Lynn Hocker

Contemporary Folk Artist

Lancaster-based artist Lynn M. Hocker has loved creating with his mind and hands since early childhood. Although these paintings are Lynn’s first venture into fine art, he has previously expressed his art through the medium of woodcraft and furniture building for 50 years.

Overseeing two for-profits and one non-profit, Lynn gains immense joy in working with non-profit boards around governance and strategy.

Lynn’s evolution into painting was born out of shoulder surgery and the shelter-in-place effects of the COVID Pandemic. He began to explore the idea of painting as a way to occupy his hands and capitalize on a creative mind.

The art process has been life-giving on so many fronts. His art has been described as whimsical, Americana Folk Art, fun, and magical. It has a unique styling that always includes a part of the painting located out of the frame.

Lynn and his wife Michelle currently live in School Lane Hills, near Franklin & Marshall College.
