Artist Spotlight: Daniel Allard

Wildlife Artist

Daniel Allard is a wildlife and conservation artist. His artwork is inspired by a fascination with nature going back to his childhood.

The work of Daniel Allard has been an absolutely fantastic addition to the gallery since Daniel brought the first pieces in. Not being much of a hunter, I didn’t know there was such a thing as duck stamps until after making the connection through Daniel’s artwork. When I was first told we had an artist bringing work in that had been featured on duck stamps, I remember being unsure as to what to expect. Was this something from a stamp collection? I don’t think the first piece was completely unwrapped before I was captivated, and utterly lost to the beauty and quality of Daniel’s work. Done in acrylics, the ducks mainly featured in this body of work are always remarked upon by visitors to the gallery. Many a visitor spends time moving to and fro in front of Daniel’s work, before inquiring whether these pieces are truly somehow three dimensional, or if they are simply getting that impression due to the depth and tone displayed by one of Daniel’s pieces.

We are thrilled to be able to offer Daniel’s work here at the Gallery, and to feature him as our July Artist Spotlight!

A graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design, Dan has been a Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Artist of the Year for the states of Ohio and Alaska, as well as being our 2018-2019 State Duck Stamp Artist for Ohio and the state of Delaware.

Having his artwork used as a tool to generate funds to conserve wildlife habitat is something Daniel considers the highlight of his career.

Daniel resides with his family in central Ohio.

Nature is a wet place where large numbers of ducks fly overhead uncooked.
