A highly Figured Cherry wood is the primary wood used in this stunning hand-crafted cellarette’s construction, with Poplar as the secondary wood. Holly wood stringing and sand-shaded oval fan inlays are applied to the legs of the base. The finish is an antique oil, with furniture paste wax applied. Period appropriate brass hardware and casters are incorporated to complete the piece.

Dimensions: 21” W x 15” D x 42” H overall.

The Cellarette, sometimes called an Antique Wine Cooler, was a very important piece of furniture in the late 18th and early 19th Century. It is a receptacle in which wine or liquor was stored in before use at the dining table.

For instance, there is a Federal Cellarette on display in the collection at The Diplomatic Reception Rooms, U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C.
